Rema 1000

Rema 1000 chose EAB Lagerteknikk AS as the supplier of storage equipment for their new main terminal in Bergen

Rema 1000 is the largest food chain in Norway, expanding each year both in the domestic market as well as abroad. Since starting up as a humble shop on the corner in 1948, they are today a global food store chain with a turnover of NOK 57 billion.
A well-run and flexible warehouse is a key factor in serving all stores. This is one of the reasons why Rema 1000 chose EAB as a supplier. The new pallet racking system, Omega, offers a very durable and flexible solution. Other significant factors to why Rema 1000 chose EAB Lagerteknikk AS as their supplier are, for instance, their flexible production and sales procedures as well as EAB’s quality and trustworthy services as a supplier.

Efficient operations and good service
Trond Eikeland, CEO for REMA Distribusjon Norge AS, Terminal Bergen, is very happy with the building and says that it forms the basis for efficient operations and good service to the stores. It is possible in the future to expand the building if required.
It offers storage for 22,000 pallets. A total of 3,000 pallets can also be stored in the goods arrival area and in the set-down area.
There are 11,486 square metres of space in the dry goods storage facility, 3,050 square metres in the cold storage area and 2,200 square metres in the freezer area. The cold and freezing storage facilities are among the largest in Bergen. The building was finalised in April 2010.
