Willys Jönköping

EAB is building a new Willys store in Jönköping

Willys is the leading discount chain in Sweden with 120 modern food stores, located in Trelleborg in the south to Luleå in the north. The company has approx. 5,000 employees and is owned by Axfood, a company listed on the stock exchange. Willys is the food store for cost-conscious shoppers, where the business concept is to offer "Sweden’s cheapest bag of groceries" Moreover, this concept is also based on offering a wide range of products, not in the least fresh products such as fruit and vegetables. It is this total solution offering the lowest prices possible, together with the wide range of products that attracts more than five million shoppers to Willys every month.

The frame for a second Willys store will be constructed by EAB before the summer holidays. The first Willys store is already complete and was built during 2009 in Ystad. On this occasion, EAB in cooperation with PEAB, are building a Willys store in Jönköping. The store is partly located in an existing building that will also be home to Jula, but the store will be extended with an extra space of approx. 2,000 square metres with a new steel frame and walls.

EAB supplies and assembles not only a new frame, but also the load distribution beams for the walls in the existing building. We also supply and assemble the roofing and sandwich beaming units for both the outer and inner walls. The project is carried out in cooperation with PEAB in Jönköping.
